His research orientation is cartography and geographical information system with emphasis on the simulation of the spatial structure and process of geographical phenomena of Northeast China, Changbai Mountains, Great Xing’an Ranges, etc. through spatial data integration by means of geographical information system and remote sensing. He won the second prize of National Award for Scientific and Technological Advancement of China.
